Talk the Walk

Helping Howard reach new peaks

HADASSAH MS 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE

Howard Sinclair has been raising money for MS charities for 47 years!

  1. What is the 3 Peaks Challenge all about:
  2. I’m climbing the 3 highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours! We start at Fort

William with Ben Nevis, move on to Scafell Pike in the Lake District, and

finish with Mt. Snowdon in North Wales. With roughly 10 hours of driving

between the 3, we’ve got 13 to 14 hours to complete the 3 climbs!

  1. What motivated you to take part?
  2. I’m doing this to raise funds for Hadassah UK, and ultimately the

Hadassah Medical Organisation in Jerusalem, which has achieved

international recognition for its work in developing stem cell therapy to

treat, and hopefully one day cure Multiple Sclerosis. My late mother had

MS for almost 40 years, and I have been raising funds for the MS Society

and its related associations since I was 16 (I think that’s 47 years!).

  1. Why did you choose to fundraise through SmartGiving?
  2. A friend recommended using SmartGiving as their fees are low and they

provide great customer service. Not to mention you are also a charity

with all profit going to great causes – it’s win-win!

  1. If you could give one piece of advice to someone taking part in a charity

fundraising challenge what would it be?

  1. The only advice I would offer to anyone thinking of taking part in a charity

fundraiser is know your limits and plan ahead.

  1. How will you keep your supporters updated on your training and

fundraising progress?

  1. I’m planning to post updates about my training on my “SmartGiving”

fundraising page. Go to https://smartgiving.org.uk/event/hadassah-ms-3-peaks-challenge

THE WHAT;  THE HADASSAH MS 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE. Along with several other crazies, I’m climbing the 3 highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours! With roughly 10 hours of driving between the 3, we’ve got 13 to fourteen hours to complete the 3 climbs.

THE WHERE; We start at Fort William with Ben Nevis, move on to Scafell Pike in the Lake District, and finish with Mt. Snowdon in North Wales.

THE WHY;  We are doing this to raise funds for Hadassah UK, and ultimately the Hadassah Medical Organisation in Jerusalem, which has achieved international recognition for its work in developing stem cell therapy to treat, and hopefully one day cure Multiple Sclerosis. Hadassah Medical Organisation has previously been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Many of you will know someone with MS, the debilitating effect it has on their lives, and the strain it can place on their families. My late mother had MS for almost 40 years, and I have been raising funds for the MS Society and its related associations since I was 16 (I think that’s 47 years). This is the biggest challenge I’ve ever undertaken and I won’t succeed without your support. Whatever you’re able to contribute will be thankfully received and gratefully applied.
